Rekey Service

Whether you've just moved into a new home, or simply misplaced a house key or two over the years, you'll want to consider rekeying your home. Our Rekey Service makes it easy. Simply place a service request online and a locksmith will rekey up to six keyholes with four identical keys for a fee. ShieldComplete members receive their choice of one free Rekey or HVAC Tune-up Service as a member benefit. 

Rekey and HVAC Tune-up services are offered by Frontdoor Pro and performed by a Frontdoor Pro independent contractor. For Frontdoor Pro license numbers, please visit Frontdoor Pro licensing information. Please note that the locksmith must have one current key for the service fee amount. If the member is missing all keys, an additional fee may apply.

Rekey Service details

Included:
Includes rekeying up to six keyholes; four identical keys
Previously installed and properly functioning non-electric doorknobs and/or deadbolts
Hinged doors accessing the structural walls of your covered residential property
Not Included:
Replacement of deadbolts, knobs, or associated hardware
Garage door openers
Broken or damaged locks
Padlocks
Skeleton locks and keys (windows, file cabinets, safes, desks, mailbox locks)

Yes,with an American Home Shield® home warranty plan, you have access to Rekey Service, which you can conveniently book in the AHS app or online via MyAccount. As a ShieldComplete member, you get your choice of one free Rekey or HVAC Tune-up Service per contract term. 

We will send a qualified Pro to rekey up to six keyholes with four identical keys for a $100 fee. If you are a ShieldComplete member, you get your choice of one free Rekey or HVAC Tune-up Service per contract term. 

Rekey services are available for $100. A separate fee applies to each unit on a covered multi-unit property. If you are a ShieldComplete member, you get your choice of one free Rekey or HVAC Tune-up Service per contract term. 

You can place your first service request once your coverage begins on the day of closing. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount or by calling 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.

It's an annual home warranty plan that helps with the cost and hassle when parts of your home systems and appliances break down. Our real estate-specific plans are offered to both home buyers and sellers and coverage begins immediately. You will also get protection for things other home warranties might not cover, like old home systems and appliances, insufficient maintenance, improper installations or repairs, mismatched HVAC systems in uncertain circumstances, and more.
