Just choose from the list of services and a qualified, independent Pro will help take care of all your ceiling fan installation needs. Ceiling fan installation service details

Labor to install one (1) member-supplied standard ceiling fan up to 52 inches in diameter.
Installation to a pre-wired, weight-compatible, fan-rated junction box on a wall or ceiling up to 12 feet high.
Removal of one (1) existing standard ceiling fan. Disposal is not included.
An additional fee will be charged for each additional standard ceiling fan installation.
Repair or replacement of drywall.
Installation of a switch, controller, new electrical circuit or any additional wiring.
Installation on ceilings over 12 feet.
Installation of bathroom, attic, or exhaust fans.
Installation of dropdown rods for a fan.
Modification or access needed to install or replace a ceiling fan, including installation of a fan-rated junction box where one is not present.
Ceiling fans larger than 52 inches in diameter or fixtures exceeding the manufacturer-rated capacity of the existing junction box.
Moving furniture or other items to provide access to the install location.
Disposal of the removed fan.

Standard ceiling fan refers to a fan that can typically be assembled and installed within one hour under normal installation conditions. Non-standard ceiling fans may require additional labor and may incur additional charges payable directly to your Pro.

Some services listed as not included may be available at an additional cost. Any additional work must be discussed, quoted, and approved by the member before work begins. Payment for additional services is made directly with the Pro.

Ceiling fan installation service FAQs

In general, ceiling fan installation costs can vary by market, and pricing can climb higher if new wiring, a fan-rated electrical box, or high/vaulted ceiling access is required. As an American Home Shield member benefit, you get a set price for standard ceiling fan installation, taking some of the guesswork out of the cost. This covers hanging a fan you provide, connecting it to an existing fan-rated junction box, and removing your old fan first. If your installation needs anything beyond that, like new wiring, a new junction box, or extra work to access the space, your Pro will go over those additional costs with you before starting the job.

A ceiling fan installation can vary based on complexity especially if new wiring or a fan-rated electrical box is needed. However, a typical ceiling fan installation may take between one to two hours.

While it's possible to install a ceiling fan yourself, it is recommended to have a professional handle it. Ceiling fan installation often involves working with electrical wiring, and getting it wrong can be a safety risk. If you want a second opinion, members can video call with an AHS Technician, who can help assess your specific setup needs and offer guidance if you'd rather attempt the install yourself. For the wiring and mounting, we still recommend taking advantage of this member benefit and getting a qualified, independent repair Pro dispatched to do the installation safely.
