Guest Unit Warranty Coverage

Guest units are a practical and convenient addition to your home, but they add additional maintenance. Having the right coverage can make it a lot easier to keep things up and running. When you add Guest Unit coverage to your home warranty plan you can simply place a service request online for a covered issue or call American Home Shield®.

American Home Shield covers guest houses and rental units under 750 square feet. If your guest house or rental unit is larger than that, you will need to purchase additional home warranty coverage.

Guest Unit FAQs

Yes, our members can extend their home warranty coverage to guest units that are 750 square feet or less. Should you choose to add coverage for your guest unit, it will provide the same coverage as the home warranty plan you selected for your main home. 

Guest unit coverage runs concurrently with your annual home warranty plan.

You can add guest unit coverage for 750 square feet or less when you purchase your home warranty plan, within the first 60 days of membership, or when you renew your plan.

You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount or by calling 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.
