Pool & Built-in Spa Equipment coverage details

Covered:
All above ground, accessible, and operationally necessary parts and components of the heating, pumping, and filtration system are covered, including:
Pool sweep motor and pump
Circulation pump motor
Plumbing pipes and wiring
Not Covered:
Underground components (including pipes and wiring); lights; liners; structural defects; jets; ornamental fountains; waterfalls & their pumping system
Heat pump pool heaters or any other type of pool heater that is powered by anything other than electricity or gas
Pool cover and related equipment; fill line and fill valves
Built-in or detachable cleaning equipment including pool sweeps, pop-up heads, turbo valves, skimmers, chlorinators, and ionizers
Fuel storage tanks; disposable filtration mediums; saltwater generators and components; saltwater cells; saltwater circuit boards; heat pumps
Self-contained portable spas
The covered item limit is $3,000 for all plans.

Yes, American Home Shield members can purchase additional coverage for pool & built-in spa equipment, which includes all above ground, accessible, and operationally necessary parts and components of the heating, pumping, and filtration system of non-saltwater pools when they purchase their American Home Shield warranty plan. See the plan agreement for coverage details, including service fees, limitations and exclusions. Coverage limits and charges for non-covered items may apply.

Pool and built-in spa equipment coverage includes the above-ground components and parts of the heating, pumping, and filtration systems including the pool sweep motor and pump, circulation pump motor, and the plumbing pipes and wiring of non-saltwater pools. If a pool or spa repair is covered, we will repair or replace its equipment subject to your plan’s limitations and exclusions, but we do not provide full pool replacements.  

Pool & built-in spa equipment coverage runs concurrently with your annual home warranty plan. 

You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount and the AHS® app or by calling 1-888-691-2854.

No, typically only manufacturers offer warranties for pool liners at the time of purchase. Our pool & built-in spa coverage covers all above ground, accessible, and operationally necessary parts of the heating, pumping and filtration equipment. Regular maintenance such as brushing and cleaning your pool regularly, maintaining the right water chemistry, cleaning your filter, and covering your pool can all help extend the life of your pool.
