For leaks or breakages of water, gas, drains, waste or plumbing waste vent lines and pipes that occur within a concrete slab or concrete walls of the Covered Home, including cinderblock, the Covered Item Limit is $1,500 for ShieldEssential℠ and ShieldPlus℠. For ShieldComplete℠, the Covered Item Limit is $2,500.

Covered:
All parts and components of the water heater unit including the tank, circulating pumps, mixing valves, and thermal expansion tanks
Not Covered:
Tempering tanks (holding and storage tanks)
Fuel storage tanks
The Covered Item Limit for ShieldEssential and ShieldPlus is $1,500. The Covered Item Limit for ShieldComplete is $2,500.

Note that we do not cover auxiliary holding or storage tanks, or fuel storage tanks. You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount and the AHS® app or by calling 1-888-691-2854.

It's an annual home warranty plan that helps with the cost and hassle when your home systems and appliances break down. Our real estate-specific plans are offered to both home buyers and sellers and coverage begins immediately. You will also get protection for things other home warranties might not cover, like old home systems and appliances, insufficient maintenance, improper installations or repairs, mismatched HVAC systems in certain circumstances, and more.
