It can! All of our home warranty plan options cover the parts and components of ceiling fans during your 1-year agreement term. Please see the plan agreement for more detailed coverage information, limitations and exclusions.

All 3 of our home warranty plans include coverage for all of the components and parts of ceiling fans. Please see the coverage details on the page above or the plan agreement for more information on limitations and exclusions.

The standard initial home warranty plan agreement is 13 months, and begins the day after you sign-up. When that concludes, your plan is eligible for renewal in 12-month terms. It is important to note that your coverage commences 30 days after the plan agreement begins. So you can submit your first service request 30 days after the plan agreement begins.

If we can’t repair your ceiling fan, "we'll replace it, and remove the defective item, subject to the limitations and exclusions of your plan agreement.

You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount and the AHS® app or by calling 1-888-691-2854.

The ShieldSilver plan covers the parts and components of your must-have systems like your heating and cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems. ShieldGold covers all of the above systems plus your laundry and kitchen appliances. And with ShieldPlatinum, you get all of the above coverages for systems and laundry and kitchen appliances, plus roof leak repair and one free HVAC Tune-up per agreement term. No two homes are the same, and that’s why we have options – so you can find the plan that fits your needs. If your ceiling fan is making unusual noises, contact your home warranty provider to place a service request. A Pro will be assigned to your service request to diagnose it and determine if repairs or replacement are needed.

Some home warranty plans may have limits on the number of service requests or repairs during your plan agreement, but American Home Shield does not. We will repair your covered items up to the coverage limits in your plan agreement.

Regular maintenance - like cleaning the fan and ensuring it is properly balanced pursuant to the manufacturers maintenance recommendations - can help keep your fan working properly. 

Yes, a malfunctioning ceiling fan can affect other systems, such as electrical issues. Addressing ceiling fan problems promptly can prevent further complications.
