Ductwork Warranty Coverage

Your ductwork may be out of sight, but it's busy keeping air moving throughout your home. That's why all American Home Shield® home warranty plans include ductwork coverage, helping keep your comfort flowing and your ducts in a row.

The covered item limit is $5,000. AHS will only provide coverage for access to a Covered Item through one layer of unobstructed drywall, and return such access opening to a Rough Finish. If the Covered Item can only be accessed through a concrete (including cinderblock) wall, floor, or ceiling, we will provide coverage for access to the Covered Item and return such access opening to a Rough Finish, subject to any Special Limits noted in this Plan Agreement. We will not cover the costs associated with accessing items that are not reasonably accessible or are inaccessible, such as those that cannot be accessed safely, due to an obstruction, or require non-standard specialized equipment to access the Covered Item. We will not provide service to any Covered Item where hazardous materials, such as animal waste, are present until such hazardous materials are removed or otherwise remediated.

Ductwork FAQs

It can! All of our home warranty plan options cover leaks or breaks in ductwork during your 1-year agreement term. Please see the plan agreement for more detailed coverage information, including limitations and exclusions.

All 3 of our home warranty plans include ductwork coverage for leaks or breaks in plenums, dampers, damper-only control, and leaks or breaks in the ductwork from air conditioning or heating systems, subject to your $5,000 coverage limit per system and plan limitations and exclusions. Please see the coverage details on the page above or the plan agreement for more information.

The standard initial home warranty plan agreement is 13 months, and begins the day after you sign-up. When that concludes, your plan is eligible for renewal in 12-month terms. It is important to note that your coverage commences 30 days after the plan agreement begins. So you can submit your first service request 30 days after the plan agreement begins.

If we can’t fix your ductwork, we'll replace it, and remove the defective item, subject to the limitations and exclusions of your plan agreement. 

You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount and the AHS® app or by calling 1-888-691-2854.
